MY FAVORITE REI CYBER WEEK DEALS 2020

It’s no secret how much I love escaping to the great outdoors. And one plus side of this crazy pandemic was that I got to go camping and exploring more than ever before. It’s the perfect activity for social distancing and getting that breath of fresh air away from the chaos. I know I needed it and took advantage of the escape often.

REI has become my favorite place to shop this year and they rarely have sales, though I highly recommend joining their Co-op to receive an annual dividend, along with their Co-op Members-Only Garage Sales, special pricing on rentals (YES, REI rents gear), and more. It’s $20 for a lifetime membership. You can’t go wrong.

Whether you’re an avid outdoorsy human or thinking about giving camping a try, I went through and rounded up my favorite discounts from REI’s Cyber Week Sales for you to give a look-see. Most of the items on this list are on sale until December 7, 2020.

These wouldn’t necessarily be my all-time favorite product choices, but these were the discounts I couldn’t ignore and I thought were worth the purchase.

If you’d like a full-fledged gift guide from REI for her/him, let me know!

// Hydro Flask Standard - 24 fl. oz. //

Save 25%

The water bottle craze is real (yay, hydrating is cool!), and everyone (probably) wants a Hydro Flask, but who really wants to spend so much money on one? I will say, the hype is legit. Keeps your liquids cold/hot for long periods of time, not to mention comes in the coolest colors. So, although expensive, I think they’re totally worth it. ALL Hydroflask items are on sale for 25% and it’s the perfect excuse to get one (or two).

Personally, I’m a huge fan of the 24 fl. oz. because it fits in the cupholder in my car, and also the coffee mugs. The mugs are ideal for camping and keep my coffee hot for so long, are rugged, and they even look great in my kitchen at home.

// REI Co-op AirRail Plus Self-Inflating Sleeping Pad //

 Rare SALE

I don’t know who needs to hear this but: invest in a good sleeping pad for camping. You will not regret it. I thought I could get away with just cheap padding on the floor of my tent—and although it helps, you’ll never know the true meaning of a rejuvenating sleep while camping unless you make the switch to a high-quality sleeping pad. Think of it this way: the quality of sleep is what charges your own person batteries, giving you the energy to tackle that trek or adventure the following morning. This REI Co-op Self-Inflating Sleeping Pad is easy to use and highly rated. It’s also rarely on sale, so snag it while you can.

// Women's prAna Polar Escape Jacket //

 Save 30%

The cozy feels I get looking at this prAna Polar Escape Jacket is next level. I can just see myself wearing this jacket with some snow boots kicked up next to a bonfire in Mammoth while I sip on some wine. Did I paint a good enough picture? Lol. This jacket was too cute to ignore, and I really like the quality of prAna’s apparel. I have a fleece turtleneck from them that I adore and live in during the winter.

// Inflatable Solar Lantern + Charger //

Save 25%

I love gadgets that make camping more fun and lighting is a creative way to spice things up. I have the color-changing version of this lantern (which is also on sale), but I like that this one is also a solar USB charger and packs up small! Tech gadgets like this always make me feel like a pro out in the wilderness.

// Garmin vivoactive 4S GPS Smartwatch //

Save 16%

I’ve always wanted a Garmin and these look so sleek. It’s hard for me to rationalize getting a Garmin when I have an Apple Watch, but if you want to have a slice of tech that caters to the adventurer in all of us, definitely look into getting this Garmin VivoActive 4S GPS Smartwatch that currently on sale.

// REI Co-op Big Haul Rolling Duffel //

 Save 50%

I’m a huge fan of REI Co-op Duffels, so much so I bought different sizes for me and my boyfriend earlier this year. Although, this isn’t the most rugged option for their duffle’s, there is something nice about having your bag on wheels with a handle, and for 50% off, this Big Haul Rolling Duffel it's well worth the deal. You can take it on a simple camping trip, or use it for a flight.

// NEMO Aurora 3P Tent w/Footprint //

Save 25%

Get a good tent. I mean it. I wish the REI cyber week deals had more tent options (I adore the REI Co-op tents), but this Nemo Aurora 3-person Tent looks awesome and you can save 25%! When I look for a tent I look for three things: (1) size (who's camping with you? Is it just you in the tent?) (2) how easy is the set up, and (3) how well will I be able to see the starts at night. This one checks all my boxes for me.

// GoPro HERO9 Black Camera //

Save 11%

It’s no secret how much I love tech gadgets and action cameras. I have DJI products, GoPro’s and all that jazz. After watching a series of tech YouTuber reviews, I'm sold on this new GoPro Hero9 that reportedly has better stabilization and picture. Save 11% on this reputable action camera perfect for experienced adventurer and novices. It's tough out all the fun exploring you want to do and fun for all sorts of video projects. A lot of people love this action camera wide angle view, too.

// NEMO Stargaze Recliner Luxury Chair //

Save 25%

A camping chair is another one of those items that I had to learn is worth the investment. I used to buy cheap camping chairs, but they were uncomfortable or broke quickly. Although this Stargaze Recliner Luxury Chair might not be my immediate camping chair choice, BUT these savings might make it worth it. My friend has a recliner/rocking chair and I admire it every time and sitting in it beside the fire is always a camping dream. It definitely is a splurge to spend this much money on a chair, but your bum and overall comfort-camping experience will thank you.

// REI Co-op Multi Towel Mini //

Save 50%

I’m a believer in always having one of these mini-towels in my backpack. It’s great for a simple dry-off near a river or just to have for any sort of emergencies, or handy at your campsite. I remember I brought mine for hiking in Kauai, Hawaii, knowing we’d be in and out of misty rains. Save 50% on this super simple accessory that will make you feel a bit more prepared.

// REI Co-op Force of Nature Pom Beanie //

Save 52%

I collect beanies even though I only really get to wear them on chilly camping nights, but I keep buying them just the same. I just thought this Force of Nature Beanie was adorable and with 52% savings, it needed to on this list. And you are a force of nature.

// BioLite Wood Burning CampStove 2 with FlexLight //

Save 25%

I just thought this was the coolest stove. No need for propane! This wood burning stove can cook your food AND charge your phone. That’s a gadget I can get behind. It’s got some really good reviews, too.

When buying a camping stove, will this be your everyday stove for camping trips or for specialized trip? Also, how much space will it take in your pack? Do you need to bring fuel? And what will you be cooking on your stove? All things to consider when buying a new camping stove.

// Sorel Explorer Carnival Felt Boots - Women's //

Save 40%

Sorel seems to be one of the top winter boot choices and I can see why. My brother searched high and low for Sorel boots for his trip to Banff, Canada if that means anything. I really like the sleek look of this Sorel Explorer Carnival Felt Boot, perfect for snow trekking this winter.

// REI Co-op Flash 22 Pack //

Save 36%

Finding a good backpack is key because it's like forming a relationship with your camping gear. You'll grow attached to it, keep around for awhile, and (hopefully) experience many adventures together. So be sure if you're investing in a backpack is checks off most of your requirements.

Things to consider when picking a new pack: How much space does it have and what will I be carrying usually? Is there a place to hold my water bottle? Can it hold a water reservoir? What kind of activities will I be using this pack for? (hiking? camping? backpacking?) For me, this pack checks all my boxes. It has little structure, but you can tighten the straps to assist with that. I LOVE this yellow color and honestly want one for myself. I have one back pack I've had for nearly 10 years right now and it might be time to switch it up.
